16th August: In Memory of Brother Roger
Today, 16th August, the community remembers its founder, Brother
Roger, who died 9 years ago. On Thursday evening, Brother Alois spoke about
Brother Roger’s life and what it stood for, during his weekly meeting with the young people. During today’s midday
prayer Brother Alois prayed:

Lord Jesus Christ, on
this day we give you thanks for the life of our Brother Roger. The fire of your
love lived within him. He understood that you came to gather all people into
one single communion. Like him, we want to give ourselves up to you with a
trusting heart, to be women and men who make a way for peace.
75th Anniversary of the Foundation of the
Community
In one year’s time, within the context of the 75th anniversary
celebrations of the community’s founding, there will be a prayer of thanksgiving, in the presence young people from
every continent, Church leaders and representatives of other faiths.
